The Dahayana Buddha statue, though under construction, still attracts many visitors.
The most interesting part was the Kalachakra temple, the pavilion and the Teaching tent.
It had to be temporary as well as traditional. With the help of the Master Thangka Painter Tempa Chöphel la and the Tailor Master Jayang of Norbulingka Institute we designed a tent that had to cover approximately nine acres of land - the greatest Tibetan-style tent ever made!
The entire tent was built in the workshops of the Norbulingka institute but its construction had to be ready on the ground in Amaravati at the same time. Therefore we made two scaled models for both places, one from which everybody worked.
In early December all the cloth and appliqué was brought to Amaravati. We were nervous at putting it together but it just worked fine and seamlessly came together.
